FUN2WOOD® is designed to help create more accessible outdoor routes. However, whether a specific installation meets ADA, ABA, state, local, or project-specific accessibility requirements depends on the complete site design and installation conditions, including but not limited to:
- running slope
- cross slope
- surface stability
- width selection
- transitions
- edge conditions
- length of route
- maintenance practices
- connection to other accessible elements
For U.S. projects, ACCESSREC recommends evaluating each installation based on the specific site conditions and the applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Installation Guidelines
On Sand, Gravel, or Pebbles
1. Prepare and level the surface before installation.
2. Place FUN2WOOD® sections in sequence.
3. Leave no more than a 0.79 in. gap between sections. 4. Connect sections using the optional FUN2WOOD® LINK connector system where desired.
5. Use optional anchors or staples where additional securement is needed.
On Grass
1. Install over a relatively flat and stable surface.
2. A thin gravel base may be used to improve drainage where appropriate.
3. Secure the walkway with optional galvanized staples for better stability.
Maintenance
FUN2WOOD® is easy to maintain.
- Clean with water, a broom, a blower, or low-pressure rinse
- Inspect periodically for hardware tightness and surface condition
- Store in a dry, ventilated area when removed for off-season storage
- Replace damaged boards as needed
Easy Board Replacement
Each board can be replaced individually in minutes. Simply lift the walkway, remove the fasteners, replace the damaged board, and reassemble the section.
This serviceable design helps extend the usable life of the walkway and reduce long-term ownership costs.
Warranty
FUN2WOOD® is backed by a three-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions.
The warranty generally covers:
- manufacturing defects in wood or hardware
- abnormal deterioration of the connecting straps
- structural issues resulting from hidden manufacturing defects
The warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and weathering
- improper installation
- misuse or overloading
- flood, fire, vandalism, or impact damage unauthorized repairs or modifications
- labor or transportation costs
